March 25 Update - Laundry Update & Pick Up & Drop Off Schedule for Resident Items

Hello all,

My hope is that this message finds you doing well, keeping appropriate social distance and taking every precaution to protect your health and others!

We can’t thank you enough for the compliments, encouragement and graciousness you have expressed to our team in the past few weeks, as we have been navigating our way through COVID-19.  We’re continuing every effort to keep everyone as healthy as possible, while maintaining an enjoyable quality of life in all aspects of wellness.

Thankfully, we still have no confirmed cases in any of our campuses.  However, as the number of COVID-19 cases universally is expected to rise due to the availability of testing kits, we are taking an extra precaution in preventing external exposure.

To that point, Friendship will be responsible for the laundering of all resident clothing, starting Tuesday, March 31, 2020. Due to our limited access and not being able to closely monitor the treatment of items outside of our campuses, we feel this is a precaution we need to take.  Please be sure to notify the building’s Administrator if there are concerns of which we need to be aware in regards to sensitivity.

As for dropping off food, drinks and perishable items, we have developed morning and evening drop-off times throughout the week when a member of security or concierge will be present at the entrance to accept your items.  The schedule is as follows:

Please note, any perishable food items being dropped off need to be properly sealed or wrapped and dated as to when it was made, along with the resident’s name and room number.

The security or concierge team member who will accept your item(s) will be wearing gloves and a mask, and will immediately wipe down the packaging with a disinfectant wipe prior to entering the building.  Security will then take the item(s) to the nurses’ station located closest to the resident for delivery.  If you are not feeling well, please do not bring in items for residents.

This same process and schedule will also apply for letters, supplies, gifts and non-perishable items, except that a date will not be required on the packaging.

Again, thank you for your understanding and cooperation!  We hope you are doing as well as possible, and are taking advantage of connecting with your loved one(s) via our GoToMeeting offerings.  We will continue to post photos of residents, as we have permission, on our social media outlets to help provide peace of mind and some connectivity in this time of social distance.

Take care and stay well,

Joe Hoff, President & CEO
