Friendship Health, a leader in skilled nursing and post-acute care, announces Nurse Practitioner Indre Malaiskaite has joined the organization’s newest healthcare offering, Friendship Physician Clinic, which opened in January of this year.

“Indre had done quite a bit of training here at Friendship a few years ago, and has continued practicing in a primary care capacity,” said Vice President of Healthcare Operations Ben Higgins.  “Her experience here and her knowledge of how Friendship operates, in addition to her history of caring for individuals in a post-acute and primary care setting, made her a great fit for our clinic.”

Malaiskaite earned her bachelor’s degree in biology from Roanoke College.  She later earned a bachelor’s and master’s degree in nursing from the Jefferson College of Health Sciences.

“I am happy to return to Friendship,” said Malaiskaite.  “I am very grateful for this opportunity to work with those who were so kind to mentor me during my studies.  I am enjoying getting to know the residents and team members here, and am proud to be of service to everyone here in the Roanoke Valley.”

The clinic features a large, sunlit lobby, a spacious nurses station, as well as multiple, private exam rooms.  Operating hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  The clinic is independent and not affiliated with any major health system.  

“Our Physician Clinic is just another way we can be of service to our residents and individuals in our neighborhood,” said Higgins.  “What many may not realize is that Friendship is a one-stop shop for healthcare services for all, whether you live on our campus or not.  There is an established on-site retail pharmacy, as well as several other services right here.  If a patient needs care, desires to set up assistance with home care, wants a warm cooked meals to take home, or needs therapy, award-winning teams are either steps or an internal call away, allowing us to provide support and peace of mind.”
