2021 Roanoker Magazine Best Of Awards are “truly an honor” for Friendship Retirement Community

Friendship, a local leader in senior living and rehabilitation, has been awarded five platinum and two gold ‘Best Of’ awards in Roanoker Magazine’s 2021 survey.

“Despite the challenges 2020 and COVID-19 posed, our team members continued coming to work every day, putting others above self and their own families and loved ones,” said President and CEO Joe Hoff. “These accolades mean the world to our team. Having members of the greater community continue to recognize these efforts in multiple categories – and at the highest level – is truly an honor and are endorsements of which we are so very proud!”

Friendship was given the platinum award for the following categories: best retirement community, best rehab/post-op facility, best employer, local company on the grow and local company that gives back.  Club Friendship was once again given the gold award as a best place to have a corporate meeting/conference, even though it was closed much of the year due to the pandemic.  Friendship also received a gold for best physical therapy practice.

COVID-19 did not keep Friendship from continuing to enhance its care offerings.  In fact, the organization implemented the following initiatives over the last several months:

·       A congestive heart failure pilot aimed at reducing hospital readmissions for high-risk patients

·       The opening of the new Friendship Physician Clinic on the North campus

·       A telehealth pilot allowing our attending physicians to virtually assess patients when not on-site

·       Introduced the Breathe Steady respiratory therapy service as part of its rehab program

·       Continued with pre-developed Sepsis protocols

·       Friendship Pharmacy was one of the first in the Commonwealth to include monoclonal antibody therapy as a tool to assist patients battling COVID-19

If you or someone you know is in need of assistance, Friendship is accepting new residents in all care levels, as well as new clients for home care services.   To learn about the community’s admission protocols, contact the following individual, based on the care level of interest:
