ROANOKE, Va. (April 12, 2019) – Friendship, a local leader in senior living and rehabilitation, honored its volunteers at a special breakfast today at Club Friendship, the community’s on-site restaurant located in the Residents’ Center, to celebrate National Volunteer Week.
“Friendship is so very fortunate to have a dedicated group of individuals who choose to make our community, specifically our residents, families and team members, a priority,” said President and CEO Joe Hoff. “In talking with several of our guests of honor today, I was moved by how Friendship has been part of so many lives in different ways.”
37 volunteers were greeted by the Friendship team and served a southern-style breakfast, complete with biscuits and gravy, bacon and sausage, cooked apples, potatoes and fresh fruit prepared by the Club Friendship team. Volunteers also received gifts and several won door prizes.
“It felt really good taking time to honor those who give so much to this community,” said Vanessa Wade, Activities Director at Friendship North Health & Rehab. “To think of all the different places and organizations that they could choose to serve, and they make a point to be here at Friendship – that just means the world to us.”
