ROANOKE, Va. (December 10, 2018) – Friendship, a local leader in senior living and rehabilitation, has selected the winners of its annual recognition awards for 2018. The four awards were presented at the annual Employee Recognition Awards banquet on December 5.
“These awards highlight just some of our Friendship team members who strive to make our community the best in the industry,” said Joe Hoff, Friendship President and CEO. “In the four award categories of Leadership, Achievement, Community and Clinical, we select individuals whose contributions are exemplary within their department and across the company.”
The recognition award winners are:
• Friendship Community Award: Annie Lin, LPN, Friendship Assisted Living
• Friendship Clinical Award: Lorice Bennett, CNA, Friendship Health and Rehab Center North
• Friendship Achievement Award: Allison Whiting, Home Care Coordinator, Friendship Home Care
• Friendship Leadership Award: Audra Reed, Director of Nursing, Friendship Assisted Living
The Friendship Community Award was designed to recognize the extraordinary efforts of an individual who, in addition to making a significant positive impact in his or her department, provides significant volunteer work, personal time, and/or contributions to the betterment of our local community or represents themselves and Friendship in the community with distinction. Annie Lin, LPN at Friendship Assisted Living, works hard to involve the community around us to promote Friendship as a company that gives back. She participates in many area community events, and enjoys spreading the word about Friendship and what a great place it is to work. She is devoted to the residents and gives selflessly to her job and the community. She is all about teamwork to better serve the needs of our residents and is always eager to jump in to help fellow employees and encourages others to do the same.
The Friendship Clinical Award is given to an individual who has made a significant positive clinical impact to his or her patients and residents, promoted and obtained higher quality standards, improved safety in the workplace, and demonstrated best practices. Lorice Bennett, CNA at Friendship Health and Rehab Center North has contributed clinically to the success of Friendship by providing exemplary care and services every day. She is always willing to work extra to make sure the facility has adequate staffing coverage, and is always approachable, and happy to assist other staff and family members. She knows the residents and is always able to provide other departments with information regarding their care.
The Friendship Achievement Award recognizes and honors an individual who has made a significant contribution to the success of Friendship. The award is given to an individual with multiple years of service to Friendship, who has made a significant impact for those served and is recognized by his or her manager or director and peers as being the best-of-the-best at their vocation. Allison Whiting, Home Care Coordinator at Friendship Home Care continuously strives for excellence and this is exemplified by the work ethic she displays on a daily basis. She is very knowledgeable, courteous, and accommodating to all Friendship clients. She always make sure she is available to meet the needs of our customers, and goes above and beyond to make employees feel like family.
The Friendship Leadership Award recognizes and honors an individual for providing exemplary leadership consistent with the vision and mission of Friendship. The recipient positively engages those around them to promote quality of care and services, to improve resident experience and quality of life, to enhance resources and environment in support of our mission, and to communicate and educate by engaging partners and teammates, promoting successful strategies, and advocating for success of our goals. Focused on the success of Friendship, Audra Reed, Director of Nursing of Friendship Assisted Living demonstrates great leadership through the care and compassion she has for residents, family members and employees. She always encourages her team to strive for excellence. She is a great listener and communicates effectively to all members of the team. She is dedicated to her job, her team and Friendship.
Friendship also recognized staff celebrating their 15th, 20th, 25th and 30th anniversary with the organization. These team members have helped Friendship provide excellence in service and compassion for those for which we provide care. Their talents and efforts already have helped achieve excellence in many areas and their dedication and commitment have been outstanding.
“Each one exemplifies Friendship’s values and principles, and have played an integral role in making Friendship the organization it is today,” said Angela Hughes, Friendship Vice President of Human Resources and Compliance. “These individuals are excellent representatives of Friendship and we are very proud to have them on our team.”
