Benefiting Area Non-Profits, Friendship Kicks-Off Summer Concert Series with Key West Band
May 28 concert to benefit Roanoke Valley SPCA, feature opening artist Drew Hudick

Roanoke, Va. (May 18, 2016) – On Saturday, May 28, Friendship Living will kickoff the 2016 “Summer Concert Series” with Key West Band. The series of benefit concerts raise funds support, celebrate and honor the work of area non-profits. The May concert beneficiary will be the Roanoke Valley SPCA. Concerts will take place at the amphitheatre located in the back of Friendship’s campus at 450 Springbeauty Street in Roanoke, Va., and begins at 6:00 P.M.

Bringing a high-energy night of Caribbean influenced music, Key West Band will be the featured performers for the evening with opening hip-hop artist Drew Hudick from the Jefferson Center Music Lab. Comprised of four talented musicians, Key West has opened for many national acts including The Tams, The Drifters, The Coasters, The Kingsmen, Jan and Dean, The Box Tops and Cravin’ Melon.

Open to the public, concert admission is $5 at the door and free for children under 12. All proceeds from admission will be collected to support the work of the Roanoke Valley SPCA. Guests are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets for the concert. Food and beverage trucks will be on-site as well during the concert. No outside food will be allowed.

  • July 23, Jane Powell (benefitting JDRF Greater Blue Ridge Chapter)
  • August 27, Seven Mile Ford (benefitting LOA’s Meals on Wheels)
  • September 10, Legacy Motown Revue (benefitting Alzheimer’s Association – Central and Western Virginia Chapter)
