Friendship Retirement Community is hosting an antique car show to celebrate National Nursing Home Week in May.
In addition to vintage vehicles from throughout the Roanoke Valley, the event features live 50s music, costumes, food, activities, facility tours and prizes for car show participants.
The show will be held in the parking lot at Friendship's Health and Rehab Center, 327 Hershberger Road, on Saturday, May 14 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
"The car show and related activities area a fun-filled way to recognize National Nursing Home Week while giving residents the opportunity to see the 'wheels' that have been a big part of many of their lives," says Cheyenne Barton, Friendship Health and Rehab Center's Director of Activities.
All the events, including vehicle entrants in the car show, are free to participants, and Roanoke Valley residents are encouraged to celebrate with Friendship Retirement Community. Friendship residents will decide the show's top five vehicles.
Owners of antique cars are encouraged to participate. To learn more, please call Barton at 540-265-2169.
